A dimensional calculator will never tell you how many bags of concrete to buy, and a material calculator will not add 8 ft 4½ in to 2 ft 7⅜ in. They are complementary, not competing.
What to actually check before you pick one
- Does it work with no signal? Most jobsites have poor coverage and most web calculators need a connection. Anything you rely on at the truck should either be a handheld or a page that still works when the bars drop.
- Does it show its working? A number with no method behind it cannot be checked, and the cost of a wrong material order is a delivery, not a rounding error. Any calculator that will not tell you the density or coverage figure it used is asking for blind trust.
